Pistachios are one of the oldest nut dating back to 6000 BC and believed to have originated in the mountain ranges of West-Asia and Turkey region. The pistachio plant is a hardy desert plant (tolerant to a wide range of temperatures and even saline soil) and is now cultivated all over the world.

the pistachios is one of the few nuts that contain most of the nutrients required by humans for complete health such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, dietary fiber, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, vitamin B-6, beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folate, and vitamins E, C, A, and K. Pistachios have one of the highest protein content compared to other nuts.
