Production

Camu Camu is grown on low growing trees alongside rivers in the Amazon, producing red, cherry-like fruits that are antioxidant and nutrient-rich. The shrub can survive submerged in water for up to five months. The seeds are removed and the berry then slowly dried and milled into a fine, soluble powder. Camu Camu is commonly harvested from a canoe.

Qualities: Camu is considered to be one of the most nutrient-dense botanical sources of vitamin C in the world which can benefit overall health and wellness, as well as immunity and energy. It also contains beta-carotene, iron, and amino acids.

Common Use

it has a sour flavor and can be added to smoothies, juices, or taken in capsules. Use ¼- ½ tsp of the powder mixed with juice, water, smoothies, ice creams, or desserts. It is safe and effective to use as many times per day as needed, however, if you are new to Camu Camu, it is best to start with less and gradually build up to ½ tsp per day. Diarrhea symptoms may indicate excessive intake.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container.
